Manaiakalani Film Festival – Return of the Queens

A small, quiet school on the east side of Auckland plays host to an epic showdown. Boys and girls face-off, battling for glory and pride. It’s a clash of strength and strategy, where friendships are tested, alliances are formed, and stereotypes crumble. With every pass and every cheer, they prove that on this court, gender knows no bounds. Get ready for the most unforgettable, epic netball battle ever.

Rolling Stone gave the performance 5 stars, and said “It’s the greatest film since Lord of the Rings”. Honestly, I didn’t even pay them to say that, they just told me 5 minutes ago.

So sit back, grab some popcorn, and get ready to experience a battle for the ages.

If you enjoyed this film, please leave a comment below; the students of Room 8 can’t wait to read what you thought!

Manaiakalani Film Festival – Sick

Room 8 students had a ton of fun preparing props, producing awesome special effects and getting soaking wet in their attempts to bring you the greatest film ever made.

“I cannot go to school today” is a complaint parents hear a lot, whether it’s a simple runny nose, or whether it’s a missing limb, some kids will try anything to get out of school. Check out some of the creative excuses these kids have for why they shouldn’t be made to go to school. Surprisingly, no COVID excuses – they must have been living under a rock the last few years if they didn’t think to use that!

DISCLAIMER: No children were harmed (badly) in the making of this film, and Room 8, and the students do not support or encourage ANY of the ideas in this film. School is important, learning is important, and spending time with your friends is important.
